Osapiens Alternatives 2026: 10 DPP Platforms When You Need a Passport, Not an ESG Suite

August 31, 2026

Platform Comparisons

Osapiens has built one of the broadest ESG platforms in Europe: supply chain due diligence, CSRD reporting, deforestation compliance, and a Digital Product Passport module, all under one roof. For corporations consolidating their sustainability tooling, that breadth is the pitch. For manufacturers who need a product passport and not a platform program, it is the problem. Suite pricing typically starts in the six figures, implementations run twelve weeks and up, and the DPP is one module among many. Here are ten alternatives when the passport is the actual job.

The suite logic, and where it breaks

Osapiens grew up on German supply chain due diligence law and expanded across the EU sustainability stack. If your organization faces CSRD, deforestation rules, and ESPR at once, one integrated data layer has genuine appeal, and the suite sale makes sense.

The logic breaks on sizing. A mid-market manufacturer whose concrete task is "get compliant passports live for our catalog" pays for suite breadth they will not use, waits for an enterprise implementation they do not need, and gets a passport module designed as a compliance record rather than a customer touchpoint. The ESPR (Regulation (EU) 2024/1781) requires public, standards-conformant product data. It does not require an ESG operating system.

1. dpp.cloud: the passport as the product

dpp.cloud does one thing and treats it as infrastructure: it connects to your existing PIM (Akeneo, Salsify, inRiver, SAP), maps your product data to the DPP schema, and puts a working passport behind a QR code in two to three weeks. The approach is documented in creating a DPP from PIM data.

The architectural difference from a compliance module: every unit can carry its own digital identity, and the passport ships with a service layer. A scan can open the manual, start a support conversation, or order a spare part, which turns the mandated QR code into an after-sales channel. The revenue mechanics are in turning QR scans into after-sales revenue. Pricing is flat, 10,500 to 17,500 euros per year, no per-SKU fees. What dpp.cloud does not do: CSRD reporting, supply chain due diligence, deforestation compliance. If you need those in the same contract, the suite conversation is legitimate.

2. Spherity VERA: audit depth without the full suite

If what attracts you to Osapiens is compliance rigor rather than breadth, Spherity offers verifiable credentials and audit-grade attestation as a focused product, with prebuilt templates for the battery passport and ESPR. Enterprise-priced, but scoped to the passport problem. Our detailed comparison is in the Spherity alternatives guide.

3. Kezzler: volume specialist

For CPG-scale serialization, billions of units, Kezzler is the specialist. Native serial-level identity, custom development for anything customer-facing. See the Kezzler alternatives guide.

4. Tappr: minimal budget, compliance only

From around 6,200 euros per year for product-level compliance passports across multiple brands. No service layer, no item-level identity, but a fraction of any suite price. Our take: the Tappr alternatives comparison.

5. Narravero: marketing-led passports for CPG

Template-driven consumer engagement for food and CPG brands, with compliance data at lot level. Where Osapiens speaks to the sustainability office, Narravero speaks to the brand team. Covered in the Narravero alternatives roundup.

6. EON: enterprise fashion product clouds

EON serves large apparel and fashion brands with product clouds and circularity narratives, strong references included. Enterprise sales process and budgets, but focused on products rather than ESG reporting. Segment overview: EON alternatives.

7. Arianee: luxury and digital ownership

Arianee builds token-based passports the customer owns: wallets, resale authentication, exclusivity mechanics. A brand experience play for luxury, not an ESG platform. See Arianee alternatives.

8. Circularise: proof along the supply chain

Circularise does materials traceability with selective disclosure between supply chain partners, strongest in chemicals and plastics. If your Osapiens interest is really about upstream evidence, this is the focused version of that capability. Comparison: Circularise alternatives.

9. iPoint-systems: the OEM compliance stack

iPoint manages substance compliance (REACH, RoHS, conflict minerals, material declarations) for industrial OEMs. Companies already running iPoint can extend toward DPP within a known ecosystem. Details: iPoint alternatives.

10. info.link: the minimal option

QR landing pages with minimal setup. No validation engine, no registry story, no unit identity, but live in days and priced accordingly. For very small catalogs it can bridge the gap. See info.link alternatives.

The three-year math

Because suite pricing is rarely public, buyers often compare a quoted suite bundle against nothing. Here is the comparison that should actually be on the table, for a mid-market manufacturer who needs the passport and already has (or does not need) separate ESG reporting tools:

ESG suite with DPP moduleFocused platform (dpp.cloud)
Year 1 (license + implementation)120,000 to 250,000 euros10,500 to 22,500 euros
Years 2 and 3200,000+ euros21,000 to 35,000 euros
Time to first live passport3 to 6 months2 to 3 weeks
Passport capability usedOne module of manyThe entire product

If the suite replaces two or three other paid tools at the same time, the left column can still win. If it replaces nothing, the delta funds a full-time sustainability hire with money left over.

How to decide

One question does most of the work: are you buying sustainability infrastructure for the whole company, or a product passport? If your CSRD and supply chain processes already have tools, or belong to another department's budget, then buying a suite to obtain a passport module means paying five to ten times the focused alternative and waiting three times as long.

A second useful test: who will open the platform weekly? If the answer is the sustainability office, a suite matches. If the answer is product data managers and, through the QR code, your end customers, buy something built for products. Check your category's actual deadline in the DPP timeline, then run the vendor scoring rubric from the DPP software buyer's guide.

FAQ

What is Osapiens best at?

Breadth. One platform for supply chain due diligence, CSRD reporting, deforestation compliance, and a DPP module. For corporations consolidating ESG tooling with enterprise budgets, the integration story is real.

Why look for Osapiens alternatives for the DPP?

Sizing. Suite pricing typically starts in six figures with twelve-plus week implementations, and the passport is one module among many. Manufacturers who only need the passport pay for breadth they will not use.

What does the ESPR actually require?

Public, standards-conformant product data per category, accessible via a data carrier on the product, registered in the EU's central DPP registry (live since 19 July 2026). It does not require an integrated ESG platform.

What is the fastest focused alternative?

dpp.cloud goes live in two to three weeks by mapping data from an existing PIM (Akeneo, Salsify, inRiver, SAP) instead of importing it. Flat pricing at 10,500 to 17,500 euros per year, with item-level identity and a service layer included.

When is the suite genuinely the better buy?

When CSRD, supply chain due diligence, and product compliance sit in the same budget and the company wants one data layer and one vendor. If those processes already have tools or other owners, the bundle argument collapses.
